In the Philippines, shallow brackishwater ponds below 40 cm are heavily fertilized to grow lablab for the culture of milkfish. However, lablab is also providing natural food for shrimps. Growth of lablab requires higher salinity which is not conducive for growth of the tiger shrimp.
